Southwold - Gem of the Suffolk Heritage Coast
The unspoilt Georgian town of Southwold on the Heritage Coast of East Anglia, has a wide variety of shops and boutiques, selling craft, antiques, gifts and clothes, in addition to art galleries and tea rooms.
The Olde Banke House is situated in the town centre yet only a few minutes away from the beautiful sandy beach and the promenade with the renowned colourful beach huts.
Southwold is a traditional fishing town and fresh fish can be bought by the harbour from the local fishing boats and of course it is the home to Adnams.
Surrounded by miles of peaceful countryside Southwold is a haven from the demands of modern society and visitors return time and time again to savour its unique charm.
There are many leisure facilities and entertainment facilities to be found in and around Southwold including the pier and, just opposite, a boating lake and a putting green. There are tennis courts and a golf club, whilst at Walberswick just across the estuary the annual crabbing championships are a delight to children of all ages.
